Aboriginal Tourism is a Growth Sector


In 2015, the Aboriginal Tourism Association of Canada (ATAC) published an eye-opening report titled Economic Impact of Aboriginal Tourism in Canada.

The report states that the Aboriginal tourism industry has an increasingly important impact on Canada’s economy:

  • Employing 33,100 people
  • Generating $2.65 billion of gross output
  • Producing $870 million in wages and salaries
  • Yielding $67 million of consumption tax revenue
