How to become a COTA member

There are three membership categories available:

Active members

Any Cree individual or any partnership or organization controlled by a majority of Cree beneficiaries engaged in outfitting or tourism activities within the traditional territory of Eeyou Istchee is eligible for active membership. Partnerships and organizations need to appoint an individual to represent them and notify COTA of the identity of their representative. Active members are eligible to vote at member meetings.

Associate members

Any permanent resident of Eeyou Istchee or any organization located within Eeyou Istchee that has demonstrated support for COTA's goals and objectives is eligible for associate membership. People of First Nations descent and First Nations organizations are also eligible. Associate members are not eligible to vote at member meetings, nor are they eligible to be elected or appointed as directors.

Honorary members

Any person or organization that has rendered exemplary service to COTA or to the tourism and outfitting industry in Eeyou Istchee is eligible to become an honorary member. Honorary members can participate in COTA activities but are not eligible to vote at member meetings or be elected or appointed as directors.
