Mistissini : Mistissini Lodge

(Mistisiniiyuukamikw) Our lodge is more than a place to eat and sleep; it is a cultural hub. Resting on the shoreline of Chackikoun Bay, which then opens up into Lake Mistassini, Mistissini Lodge unites the conveniences and comforts of modern living with the charm and character of our traditional native culture. We have 20 rooms - all offering a stunning view of the great glacial lake. Each room is equipped with comfortable double and queen size beds, a refrigerator, coffee-maker, television, and even air conditioning. Our large restaurant looks out across the water and features an outdoor terrace for those warm summer days. The menu reflects the spirit of uniting cultures with its mix of continental cuisine combined with contemporary and native specialties.

The Mistissini Lodge also has new services to offer: wireless high speed Internet, free access to the canoes and kayaks when you stay at the lodge, BBQ for special meetings, events or dinner, a fish-cutting house where anglers can fillet their day's catch.  Please note that cellular phones are now working in the community of Mistissini.

A conference room is available, fully equipped with internet connection, computer rental, and all manner of audio and visual equipment. It can accommodate from 40 to 80 people.

A fuller appreciation of our culture is available through the Cree Interpretation Centre and Museum where you can gain insights into the history and heritage of our people and this place we have called home for many generations. The creative spirit of the culture is evident in the beautiful beaded garments, carvings, and other arts and crafts that you can purchase in the Cree Arts and Crafts shop.
